This page contains information on the locations and battle strategies for the Lost Drengr in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Every great Viking craves a warrior's death. In your travels through Norway and England, you may come upon the last remnants of King Ragnar Lothbrok's most loyal Viking elite, known as the Drengr. Once responsible for pillaging England, these aged fighters are now leaderless and without purpose - but yearn for a proper death. Face them in battle, and you'll earn mighty rewards, but don't expect an easy fight.

There are several Lost Drengr scattered across the world, appearing as Mysteries on your map. Face a Drengr to be drawn into a challenging 1v1 combat scenario to the death.

See the list below for Lost Drengr locations, and the best tips to defeat them in battle.

Erik Loyalskull

  • Location: Hildesvini’s Crag, Rygjafylke. Climb up the tall falls behind Fornburg to enter a large cave system where this Drengr waits in a large opening near the back.

Combat Tips and Strategies: Erik is likely the first of the Lost Drengr you’ll meet in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Part of a doomed crew of Vikings that once raided England, he is now without a king or a battle to fight, and requests an honorable death by combat at your hands.

Make no mistake, Erik may be past his prime but he’s no pushover - treat this like any other major boss battle. This battle can be especially tough if you’re facing him early on in your adventure - without decent skills or abilities to aid you in battle. We highly recommend you at least upgrade some of your raven gear first, equip a shield, and seek out a Book of Knowledge or two in Norway to get abilities like the Throwing Axe Fury at Nottfall or the Rage of Helheim behind Kjotve’s Fortress.

Erik will fight immediately after accepting his challenge, swinging wildly with an axe and hammer. He will usually unleash fairly fast strong attacks in a chain of two to three strikes, so if you choose to parry them, be ready to parry several in a row to begin depleting his stun meter. When you see him stagger back from a parry or two, that’s your cue to start giving your own offense - but do not press the attack!

Erik is very quick to start turning the tables by parrying (watch for his raised weapon). If you try to attack too many times, he’ll stun you with a parry and likely follow up with an attack you won’t be able to get away from. Stick to hitting 2-3 times before backing off - the battle may go slow, but survival is more important.

Erik may also try to back off and get some distance on you. Don’t let him do this. He’ll unleash a salvo of axe tosses if he gets enough distance, and the speed of them makes them hard to dodge - but using a shield will work at the cost of depleting all your stamina. Instead, try to remain close enough to him that he can’t get away, but far enough that you’ll be able to see his next attack coming.

Keep note of Erik’s weapons, as he may decide to put away one weapon and hold his hammer or axe behind his head. This is an indication that he’s going to try for an unblockable attack - marked by a red rune aura. This can incorporate a surprisingly quick dash, but as long as you spot his stance, you should be able to dodge quickly and counter with a hit.

Remember that you can rapidly deplete his stun meter with successful parries to his heavy attacks, or by firing an arrow into his weak points (a risky move given the close confines, but he tends to hang back when swapping to a single weapon). Make sure to inflict a stun attack on him, as it will deal massive damage.

Defeat the old warrior and give him the death he craves, and you’ll be awarded a spear called Fafnir’s Fang.

Orwig Neverdeath

Orwig isn't really hidden at all. Just head to his icon on the map in Hordafylke, Norway, and you'll find him sitting in a chair, talking about how impenetrable he is. He says this because he fights with two heavy shields.

First off, Orwig Neverdeath has a power level of 370. This is the highest power level of anything we've witnessed in the game. The second thing: he uses two shields so it will be nearly impossible to hit him. The trick is to perfectly dodge.

Dodge at the last second and time will slow down. Use this window to land some stunning shots on his three weak spots, which are his two forearms and his left knee area. If you hit all three of these spots, his stun bar will go down, which leaves him open for a heavy-damage R3/RS stun attack.

You can also try and parry his moves, which will leave him briefly open for attacks. Unless you're level 350 or higher, this fight is going to be hard. We recommend keeping it safe by just dodging all of his moves, aiming to hit that sweet perfect-dodge spot.

You will receive one random diamond-shaped rune upon defeating him.

Thor the Fish Monger

Thor the Fish Monger is a lost drengr that can be found in East Anglia, in its central region near the coast. When you arrive, you'll find Thor on a dock and he'll ask for an honorable fight to the death in front of his son.

Tell him you'll fight him. Thor uses two long spears, one in each hand. His most-used move is a stab attack. He'll stab at you three or four times in a row. You can try to parry these, but it's nearly impossible. Instead, dodge out of the way or, if you're using a shield, just hold the block button until the attacks are done.

His weak points are his two hands and you should target these right when the fight starts. After you've shot both, he'll only have a third of his stun bar left. Target his right knee after this to take that last third of the stun bar down and then, get ready to rush forward to use a heavy-damage stun attack by pressing R3/RS.

If you want to attempt to kill him from a distance, after you've hit his two shoulders with arrows, focus your arrows at his head. He's just a human, after all, and he's not wearing any armor on his head, so headshots do a great deal of damage.

If you see him put his spears behind him, he's likely about to jump quite high into the air to slam them down into you. This is a red rune attack so it's not blockable. As such, you should immediately attempt to dodge when he does this. If you're confident in your dodging abilities, dodge at the last second to slow time down for a couple of seconds and use this window of time to attack him.

You'll receive two random diamond-shaped runes for defeating him.

Skegjold Frenzy-Seeker

This fight can be found in the southern region of Snotinghamscire, just east of the actual word, "Snotinghamscire" on the map. When you arrive, you'll find Skegjold off to the side of the arena. Speak to her and then drink some of her mead to begin the fight.

When the fight begins, she'll likely use what we'll call her one-two punch of the fight. She'll throw a dagger at you and then jump into the air before slamming down with a massive red rune (which means unblockable) attack. You should block the thrown item and then dodge left or right while Skegjold is in the air. If you dodge at the very last second, time will slow down, which is a great opportunity to knock out her weak points with some arrows.

Those weak points are: her right shoulder, her left elbow/arm/hand, her left leg.

Target those weak points first thing to bring her stun bar down. This will open her up for a heavy-damage R3/RS stun move. Skegjold is a fast moving warrior who uses two axes and throwing daggers. If you haven't unlocked the skill that allows you to throw back these daggers by pressing L1/LB, then get ready to block them with a shield or dodge out of the way.

She'll often throw a dagger to throw you off before quickly dashing in for some brutal axe slashes. If you're trying to parry her, always be prepared for multiple hits as she very rarely hits just once with her axes.

If you have the Force of the Nornir ranged ability, try using it. For some reason, we were able to use this for an unlimited amount of time during the fight as our stamina never went down. We suspect this is a bug that has to do with the fact that our stamina wasn't going down as we were drunk on the mead we drank to start the fight.

When you get her health bar down, confirm the kill to complete the fight. You'll receive two random diamond-shaped runes.

Gotafrid Fairrobes

This Lost Drengr can be found in Eurvicscire, England, east of the Petuaria Ruins. When you arrive, you'll find the man by a fire. Speak to him and tell him you want a fight to begin.

Right off the bat, you should target his weak points — his left shoulder, his right arm/hand, and his right knee area — to take his stun bar down. This will open him up for a heavy-damage R3/RS stun attack. This will take out a nice chunk of his health.

There are three things to note with Gotafrid. He uses a shield and a large halberd as his main weaponry. The shield will often block your attacks so don't bother spamming him with attacks. Instead, focus on parrying his attacks and performing perfect dodges (dodge at the last second), which slow down time.

His halberd is large and long-reaching so don't count Gotafrid out for ranged attack. He can easily traverse the arena with his sprint and long-reaching Gotafrid attacks. The third thing to pay attention to are his spears. If you keep your distance from him for too long, he'll throw spears at you. These not only do a lot of damage, but they also put you on the ground often, leaving you open to attacks from the drengr.

His head takes more damage than other body parts when using a bow so try equipping the Force of the Nornir ranged ability. This allows you to slow down time and shoot anywhere between five to seven arrows at Gotafrid. Target his head.

advertisem*nt

We found that for a couple of moments, Gotafrid whipped out a hammer. This didn't change much except that his attacks hurt even more and his reach was shorter.

When you finally defeat Gotafrid, confirm the kill and you'll receive one random diamond-shaped rune.

Nokkfylla Shine-Eye

This lost drengr can be found right by the northernmost synchronization point in Eurvicscire, England.

Nokkfylla uses a large axe and the second you select the option to fight him, he'll swing it at you with a red rune unblockable attack so be prepared to dodge immediately. This is an overhand attack. If you see him pull the axe behind him, he's about to do an orange slash attack. Try to parry this to knock his stun bar down some.

You should also target his weak points — left shoulder, right elbow, right knee — to bring his stun bar down.

This will open him up for a heavy-damage R3/RS stun attack that will take out a good chunk of his health.

advertisem*nt

There's another red rune, unblockable attack to look out for: Nokkfylla will launch into the air and slam his axe and body into the ground. Try to dodge at the very last second to perform a perfect dodge and slow down time.

There's a statue in the "arena's" corner. If you can, pin him up to the left of it and he'll be somewhat stuck if you mash your quick attack button. He might use a red rune attack to get out, but his other moves won't help him much so spam away. If you see him walk away to the bridge pictured below, run after him and hit him asap. He's walking away to heal.

Often, he'll use an orange attack. Parry that and then be prepared to parry three more moves. This combo of his ends with a red rune attack so after parrying or blocking those four moves, get ready to dodge left or right to avoid his red rune attack.

When you defeat him, you'll receive one random diamond-shaped rune.
