My new favorite shrimp recipe...I am absolutely obsessed with the sauce! In this Keto Bang Bang Shrimp Recipe, I give instructions for the Air Fryer, and baking in the oven.

So how do you make bang bang shrimp low carb and keto friendly? First we have to use a different breading. Traditional bang bang shrimp is fried with cornstarch, like a tempura. To cut out the carbs, we are going to use a combo of parmesan cheese and almond flour.

The breading ads so much flavor to the shrimp!

For the parmesan and almond flour dredge, I put everything in a food processor and pulsed it to get a course crumb.

The amounts of theingredients is down in the recipe card.

So here is our dredging station. We've got a beaten egg, our dredge mixture, and 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp. To keep things simple, I just dumped the beaten egg onto the shrimp.

Now put a shrimp in the crumb mixture and coat it, then place it into the air fryer, or set aside if you are pan frying.

You may have to cook these in 2 batches. I have a 6 quart air fryer and I could fit 9 jumbo shrimp.

To cook these in the air fryer, I did 360F for 4 minutes, then 400F for 4 minutes. They were perfect!

Keep in mind, my shrimp were quite large. If you use smaller shrimp, you would need to adjust your time.

Now we need to make the sauce! This sauce is incredible! It includes mayo, Sriracha, lime juice, rice vinegar, garlic powder, soy sauce, Swerve, and ginger.

Now just dip each one in the sauce and try not to eat them all!

BAKED BANG BANG SHRIMP

To bake these in the oven, lay them all out on a lined sheet pan after breading. Bake in a 400F oven for 10 minutes, then Hi broil until they start to brown. Flip and broil for a few minutes more.

OMG Delicious! I switched out the almond flour for pork rinds, this recipe is so good. The shrimp alone was tasty and delicious with the sauce! Will be making this again and again!!!

Great recipe. I made this for dinner tonight. We all loved it. I made a batch in the air fryer and another in the oven. Delicious either way. I didn't have all ingredients for the sauce. Used hot sauce instead and added a little Creole seasoning to the coating. Thanks for a great recipe !

I fried mine for higher fat to protein content. I also used pork rinds instead of almond flour (bc I hate that stuff). Let me tell ya---best bang bang shrimp ever. Thanks for the recipe!

I made this last night for dinner. This was absolutely delicious and the sauce was incredible! No restaurant could have given us a better meal! I served this with fresh green beans and the sauce was delicious on these as well.
My only change was that I added 1/8 C unsweetened coconut to the almond flour mix (and I probably could have added 1/4C). Thank you for your wonderful creation!

This an awesome recipe. We love it. The only problem I have is that my breading doesn’t seem to stick to the shrimp, especially when I coat it in the sauce. Any suggestions?
    Thanks so much

The sauce is for dipping I think. The egg is for dredging

What would you suggest as sides? We’re not big on the cauliflower rice.

Jennifer: my husband and I liked these so much we had them 2 nights in a row for dinner. We baked them in the oven instead of using our air fryer. We used one recipe of sauce for both nights. Absolutely delicious! 5 stars for this recipe!

Thank you for this great recipe! Followed the recipe exactly, used monk fruit as my sweetener, and air fried half while lightly pan frying the other half in coconut oil. Both were delicious, but even with generous spraying, they stuck to my air fryer so I preferred the pan fry. My husband used the extra sauce as salad dressing he loved it so much, and we served the shrimp with cauliflower fried rice. Delicious!

Ginger paste is a convenience item in the produce section of the grocery store. A paste made from ginger root. You could also use ginger root chopped up.

So So Good!!! I just finished eating this and it is now my favorite keto shrimp recipe! The shrimp coating was crunchy and I couldn't tell it wasn't made with flour. The sauce was not too hot. The entire recipe was super easy and quick to make. I will be making this often! Thanks for the recipe

This was DELICIOUS!! One of the best things I've ever made! I made three variations of the batter -- almond flour, coconut flour, and hemp hearts. While all were tasty, everyone loved the hemp hearts version the most. We made these as lettuce cups and this was a huge hit with everyone. Also, the sauce is addicting and can be used in a number of different ways. This whole recipe is soon to be in high rotation at my house!
