Paper Plate Soccer Craft
Designed to engage young minds, this paper plate soccer ball craft offers numerous benefits for kids of all ages. Perhaps most blatantly, this craft provides an opportunity to develop fine motor skills through painting and cutting.
Additionally, making a soccer craft is a great way for kids to show their love for the game! Whether they are a player, a fan, or both, painting a miniature paper soccer ball is a fun way to connect with other soccer enthusiasts. Kids can experiment with different colors, patterns, and designs, creating a truly personalized masterpiece.

Craft Supplies Needed for This Project
Before diving into this great craft, make sure you’ve got all the right supplies:
- Soccer Craft Template
- White cardstock
- Washable paint
- Paintbrushes
- Paper plates
- Scissors
- Glue

How to Make This Craft
This free printable soccer craft is perfect for little hands. Follow the instructions below to learn how to make it.
STEP 1: Download and print the craft template.The digital download for this soccer activity is available for free on our website. Download it by clicking the link in the craft supplies list. The PDF file includes 6 small pentagon outlines for kids to color and decorate.
STEP 2: Paint the pentagons.We used our favorite Crayola Washable Paint because it’s easy to clean and dries with an interesting texture. If you don’t have washable paint, you could use:
- A soccer stamp
- Ripped construction paper pieces
- Tissue paper squares
- Cotton swabs dipped in paint
- Pom poms
- Crayons,Kwik Stix, dot art markers, or colored pencils
- Cut-up recycled gift tags
- Fingerprints dipped in ink or paint
- A small toy soccer ball dipped in black paint
The possibilities are endless!
STEP 3: Cut out the pentagons.When the shapes are completely colored and dry, use scissors to cut them out.
Our template boasts thick black lines, making it great cutting practice for preschoolers, kindergartners, and kids in first grade.
STEP 4: Glue the pentagons to the plate. Glue the pentagons to your paper plate as pictured below. When the glue is dry, your soccer craft is complete!
Hang the soccer ball on a bulletin board or your refrigerator, or thread yarn through several balls to make a banner to celebrate World Cup soccer. It will be the perfect sporty addition to your classroom or home decor.
